The Green Bean
We decide what we want to achieve with the blend in terms of taste parameters and profile - acidity, body, aroma, and sweetness - and then go in search of the coffees we require to achieve it.
Pre-Blends and Flavors
The pre-blends are evaluated using cupping, a tasting technique that evaluates the aroma and flavor profile of the coffee to determine its quality.
Consistency is the key! From sample roaster to main production, all of our machines are made to the same unique specifications. Di Bella Coffee’s roasting equipment is custom manufactured in Italy to meet specific requirements.
The Search for the Green Bean.
The beans that are finally selected need to satisfy the parameters of taste, such as acidity, body, aroma, and sweetness.
Plant, Pick and Process.
Beans from the Coffee Arabica Plant are primarily used in Di Bella coffees. These beans are either strip picked or selectively picked, after which they are processed.
Screen and Grade.
To ensure that only the best reaches our customers, the processed beans are screened and graded.
Cupping – The aroma, fragrance and flavor check!
This tasting technique assesses the quality, flavor and the aroma of the beans. Based on these checks, the suitability of the coffee for different blends is decided upon.
Cupping is followed by blending. Di Bella has 11 signature blends that caters to an array of coffee drinkers with each blend varying in strength, acidity, and sweetness.
Consistency is the key! And keeping it fresh, our aim. To meet our ‘fresh is best’ policy, the beans are roasted to order, and delivered within 7 days of roasting!
